This is a walk down Riesling Boulevard where everything just sparkles. From the Pewsey Vale vineyard, this is a glorious wine.
This is a wine of history, of comfort, of absolute deliciousness. It builds its profile as it coats the mouth lusciously. Lime zest, lime pie, Bickford's lime cordial, almonds and that wonderful toast thing only aged Riesling can do. That lime pie keeps talking and urges me back for more. The expected minerality that comes with this territory rises up and drags you along for the ride. You can't help but be transfixed. Some herbal tea comes late but waves of lime just keep raising their hand to entice - and entice they do.
Wines like these are stunning particularly when you can see where the current release is and compare it to where it can go. Go here and hold it in two hands. Sip slow and be taken to heavenly places. Aged Riesling nailing the brief. Yes!
