Coming from the Limestone Coast and peak Cabernet Sauvignon territory, this is a tidy wine for 15 bucks.
Bucketloads of blackberries spill from the glass. Sourced from the terra rossa soil of Bool Lagoon just up the road from Coonawarra (if I built an Aussie pub, the name Bool Lagoon would make the shortlist), plum compote, mocha and dried herbs fold through the mouth. Persistent with great width, Christmas cake spices add some warmth to the finish. A wine that's easy to snuggle up to, all I see is the 'value' light flashing. Nicely done.
