A fruit-forward Cabernet that sees older oak, this is an easy go-to. In fact, all the Hesketh new releases have been very tidy. They are worth grabbing given the price point too. The approachability is the shining light with this Cabernet.
It's bright and skips about with enthusiasm. All varietal characters put their shoulder to the wheel and deliver a no fuss wine that is sure to please. The fruit is plump and framed by soft spices that roll on longer than expected. Licorice, dried sage and dark chocolate add pleasure with soft tannins to close. Let it sit a little longer to see some earthiness and tobacco slowly emerge. All up, this is a good drink.
Drink to five years.
