Vickery Eden Valley Riesling 2022

 

Two Rieslings, one maker, two districts. This Vickery Riesling is from the Eden Valley with its sibling from the Clare Valley subregion of Watervale. Sitting such wines side by side is always an interesting activity.

Surprisingly, this Eden Valley shows some development early on despite being a newbie on the scene. Honeyed tones wash through on the back of pie apple and lemon sorbet. A vibrant dash of lime accelerates things and brings everything back onto an even keel before finishing with a drying, chalky finish. Seafood by the water awaits.
