Paisley Maeve Shiraz Cabernet 2019

We're stepping into the big time now at Paisley. A big, weighty bottle is a step up from the others in the Paisley range, as is the more visually attractive label. All deservedly so given this is the flagship.

Sure, heavy bottles aren't great for the environmental footprint, I get that. It's a big turn off for a lot of people I know. But I can't help to notice the step up or prestige when such bottles come across the tasting bench.

Generous and dense, this gets in deep. A 50/50 blend, cedar and dark chocolate flank the dark plums and berries. Attractive scents of violets and dried purple flowers add lift. A shimmer of mint lurks in the deep which is a curious touch. Smokey bacon and cherry liqueur build some momentum with more time in the glass. Baking spices synonymous with the Barossa rise up and push through to a memorable finish. A serious Shiraz, this will age beautifully.
