A Chardonnay with polish and sheen, Levantine Hill winemaker Paul Bridgeman doesn't muck around. The style and weight of this Estate wine is a contrast to some other Yarra Valley producers, but you're destined to embrace each sip.
The fruit was hand-picked, sorted and whole bunch pressed before a mix of inoculation and wild yeast fermentation took place. Some parcels went through full malolactic fermentation. An array of large format oak was used (6% new) for eleven months.
A riot of ripe and juicy white fleshed nectarines with some white fleshed peach for good measure, a creamy drive is pinned to the core. There is no denying the saturation of fruit. Lemon juice and yellow fleshed grapefruit add interest with a brioche and pastry like texture. Cashews and almond meal deliver some nuttiness with a lemon curd and lemon sorbet tang clinging to a lengthy finish. If you like your Chardonnay a little bigger, you'll love this.
