The Pike family have produced exceptional Rieslings in their own right from their Clare Valley base, but their partnership with the Joyce family, fifth-generation horticulturalists, marks this foray into Adelaide Hills. Fragrant and zippy, this is a smart release.
The seventh release of this Riesling, it's almost water clear as limes, green apples, lavender and musk skip excitedly from the glass. The palate is a little restrained and holds itself back demonstrating a composed and chalky textural appeal. White peach skin feels, poached pear and canned green apple work in unison delivering a wine that would be best suited with food by its side. A zippy citrusy tang amps up the excitement on close with a shimmer of lemon sherbet having the last word.
