Just think of this Lyons Will Gamay as a dance party and everyone is invited. What a brilliant slurp of juicy delight we have here. There are a few masters of Australian Gamay and Lyons Will is certainly one of them.
The compelling thing about Gamay (and Beaujolais for that matter), is that it's something a novice can savour to get them into the red wine groove, yet conversely, it's a variety that can move the most esteemed wine lover. That itself is a pretty awesome characteristic to have in your kit bag...
Silky, vibrant and curvaceous, this is slinky and damn smashable. There is a curious minty and eucalyptus presence early but that moves on. Juicy boysenberries and squishy blueberries consume the flavour profile and take control. Dried rose petals and lavender diffuse from the glass. The longer it sits a flash of cola and black tea wriggles forward. The whisper of an acid crunch slides in and elevates the moreishness. Delightfully slurpable, it seems to evaporate from the glass with very little effort. It's an excellent wine.
