Castello di Neive Langhe DOC Pinot Nero 2020

Think Langhe and Pinot Nero (Noir) is probably not one of the first varieties that springs to mind. In the ground since 1995, this Castello di Neive demonstrates all the structural beauty of the variety.

Dark cherries and strawberries are underpinned by char and beef stock nuances. Fine-grained tannins stretch the length and breadth of the palate with delicate, soft spices in the form of cinnamon and cloves along with some expected earthiness adding further interest and detail to its complexity. It's a wine that flexes some muscle but there is enough poise and charisma ensuring that this is a wine that whispers more than it shouts. Excellent stuff.
