Get around this Castello di Nieve Barbera d'Alba DOC Santo Stefano 2022. A wine of structured complexity, I want in.
Tasted at the cellar door with the extensive Castello di Neive range, this sees more time in oak than its Barbera d'Alba sibling. Well weighted, I'm drawn in by the way it has been handled. The oak adds a subtle richness and polish to the mid-palate. Red fruits shine through, lifted by bright acidity that brings vibrancy and promises good ageing potential. A cellar-worthy Barbera and an absolute pleasure to drink - if only I had more time to spend with this glass...
