Opening with rose petals, orange peel, Negroni things, flickers of herbs and the whisper of Campari, the elegant power that makes Barbaresco such a sheer magical drink is on full display through its delicate caress. Plums, dark cherries and strawberries have poise. Broad and commanding through the mouth, the powder bomb tannin structure is fine, tactile and strides out to an outrageous length. I wanted to stop taking notes and embrace the moment along with every drop that was in the glass. Some cloves and fine spice wash through late with a minerally backbone, but I'm fixated on the structure and shape.
Elegant, intelligent and showered in glory, what a brilliant wine this is.
