The first release of this beauty and what an entrance it has made. So elegant, the fruit purity defines this wine but it stays true to the variety with its tannin structure. Black book this Rocche Costamagna Barolo DOCG La Morra 2021.
Enticing aromas of red blossoms, violets, and rose petals stir anticipation, joined by notes of raspberries, fennel, and a hint of spice. Lush, silky, and irresistibly drinkable, the red fruit flows beautifully across the palate with growing intensity. Accents of licorice, orange peel, negroni things, and red grapefruit bring extra depth and complexity. And that length! A true standout among many Barolos tasted. I grabbed a bottle for the road and only wished my luggage allowance wasn't restricted. Absolutely brilliant!
