The was a period where I saw a lot of Pinot Gris but I have noticed the tide shift predominantly to Mediterranean varieties. Then along comes this radiant release from Riposte - it's a beauty.
Clean, fresh, vibrant - it's called the Stiletto but you'd be forgiven for kicking those off and sliding your dancing shoes on instead.
Cut pear and poached pear radiate all the energy with green apple skin, the flicker of honeyed tones and white fleshed stonefruit playing supporting roles. What draws me in closer is the considered textural interest with its captivating depth. That phenolic grip is well handled and placed. Cinnamon spices wash through gently and a long bow of lemon juice and citrus acidity is drawn on close. There is a lot to like here. Great stuff!
