Yelland and Papps Barossa Valley Cinsault 2022

If you enjoy vibrant examples of Pinot Noir, Gamay or Grenache, you'll be sure to love this Cinsault from Yelland & Papps. It's juicy, slurpable and delicious.

In March 2020 I sat at a table with Michael and Susan sharing a Cinsault from McLaren Vale. It was drinking a treat and its juicy and slurpable vibe saw it downed in no time. "You can make a wine like this," I suggested. And here we are. A Yelland & Papps Cinsault...

Sourced from a vineyard in Stonewell, scents of pretty dried petals, raspberries, red cherries, pomegranate, blackcurrant leaf and twiggy spices set the scene. Finely structured, it's wonderfully weighted and almost seems to float through the mouth. A flash of char and a puff of earth add to the detail. Superfine, sheets of delicate spice coat a long and sustained finish. Silky tannins excite before the bright red apple and ruby grapefruit acidity swoops adding crunch and vibrance. A day on, more blue fruits rise up but the juiciness still shows vitality and joy.

Yep. So joyous. So delicious.
