Max and Me Springton Vineyard Grenache 2022

 

I sat down with Phil Lehmann recently to go through some of his Max and Me wines. The quality across the board is most impressive. This Eden Valley Grenache makes its debut in the range and what an entrance it has made. Tight on opening, it expressed itself with more time in the glass.

From Springton in the Eden Valley, the vineyard was planted in 1858. 

Pretty aromas of blue and purple flowers consume the nose. Add some grape bubblegum, blueberries, and raspberries and the desire to dive in with pike is high. Waves of fine spices build momentum as does the raspberry and red cherry fruit. Five Spice curls around the mouth with a delicate minerally drive subtly washing through. The fruit hits and sticks on the mid-palate leading to a long and irresistible finish. A wine that will age for the medium term, it's just beautiful. Go here.
