Dead smooth, there is plenty of interest in this Heslop Wines Shiraz Cabernet.
Take a whiff to reveal char and smoke characters courtesy of the oak. Quite rich and dense with generous plums the order of the day, blackcurrants and fruit compote aren't far from the action. Scents of freeze dried strawberries rise up with more time in the glass and a tasty lick of rhubarb pie builds momentum. Sampled at the cellar door from a bottle that was just opened, I suspect this would improve with more time in the glass. But for now, I can only review what I see.
