I'm yet to meet winemaker Cliff Royale but I'm sure we will break bread in time. His wines are always impressive and the quality and consistency across the various ranges hit the mark and then some.
This SRS Chardonnay hits the bullseye once again. White fleshed peach and nectarines are all the rage with glace pineapple, barbecued peach, grilled fig and a glorious ribbon of vanilla cream threading its way through with ease. Some nuttiness comes in the form of cashews and almond meal but the killer blow comes from the whisper of oyster shell - yes! Long and so wonderfully satisfying, as the French would say, magnifique!
Due for release December 2023.
