I like this. A lot. It's gun barrel straight. What you see is what you get. Wrap your mouth around this very tidy Cabernet Franc.
Often blended away, I'm seeing more and more Cabernet Franc standing on its own two feet around the place. In the right hands, it sings and it's doing that right now.
It sees 14 months in large format French oak and the cheeky addition of Shiraz (9%) adds some energy and blue fruit. Licorice and cola are all the rage from the outset. Blackberries find some wriggle room with dried leaves and new leather. Some earthiness, black fruit and that drawn out licorice stay the course with a spice tickle on close. Good gear this. Well played.
