I could shoot the breeze at dusk by the fire pit and drain the contents of this Amour Pinot ever so slowly. Charming, sophisticated and delicious company, come at me.
Grown at 870 metres above, 50% whole bunches were used and it saw 20 months in French oak (25% new).
Red cherries and cherry pie with flashes of menthol land early, there is a lithe meatiness in the form of pan juices. Plums and blackberries build some momentum and density that wash through with ease. Some char and a little nutty delight hitch a ride on their coattails. Black tea and dried thyme come late with fine powdery tannins refusing to move on a finish that draws long and dries out ever so slowly. Just glorious.
Drink to eight years.
