Thomas Wines Braemore Semillon 2023

I haven't reviewed the Thomas Wines Braemore since the 2019 release. It was a 95 point wine then and this 2023 has shown little has changed with this excellent expression of Hunter Valley Semillon.

To add further polish to its already glistening trophy collection, Thommo tells me that Wine Ark revealed, according to their storage data, the Braemore is now the 40th most collected white wine in their cellars. That's quite an achievement when you consider the calibre and prestige of the others on the list. For mine, the striking statistic is that it didn't just sneak into the calculations, it has rocketed up the ladder for its debut. Bravo Thommo.

As for this wine? From 55 year old vines on the alluvial Hunter soils, the Braemore vineyard sits on Hermitage Road - pristine Semillon country. Limes, lime zest, lemon grass and lemon sorbet. Clean and super refreshing, the acid is zippy and sizzles.

Proven to age yet it drinks oh so fabulously now. Another epic Hunter Semillon from this proud producer.
