Willunga 100 Trott Vineyard Blewitt Springs Grenache 2021

There is no doubting the prettiness that seeps through Grenache's veins when it is grown on sandy soils. That is evident once more with this Willunga 100 Trott Vineyard particularly when it is compared to its Smart Vineyard sibling.

These dry grown bush vines sit on sandy soils over clay and ironstone sitting 210 metres above. 10% whole bunches were used and the wine was matured on lees for 10 months.

Dried petals and red flowers get things started. The fruit sizzles with raspberries and strawberries cutting loose and surging forward. Cranberry juice and orange rind add layers of intrigue too. Exotic spices along with flickers of dried herbs add savoury appeal. It finishes long with a delicate caress of the mouth as those spices just tingle and tease. You can't help but want more - it's stunning really. Well played Skye Salter, take a bow.
