Gundog Estate Off-Dry Semillon 2022

 

The last Off-Dry Semillon from Gundog Estate that came across the tasting bench was made with fruit from the Canberra district. This 2022 release heads back to its Hunter Valley roots.

Screaming for spicy dishes, this is all green apple juice and green apple peel, lemongrass, cut green herbs with a flash of lemon juice running through the tail. Coming in at only 8% alcohol, the pendulum certainly swings to the sweetness side of things. That sugar may be off-putting if had without food. Find that chilli crab or Kung Pao chicken.
