Vermentino has me thinking of sunshine and seafood but this sparkling carries some weight given the style.
Not as refereshing as hoped, that dense frame detracts from what in the past has been a sessionable fizz. Honeyed tones, cider apple, baked pear, scrumpy and some ginger spices all carry the flame. There is a creamy drive from 24 months on lees but if uplifting refreshment is what you seek, you may need to look elsewhere. Mind you, wrap you hands around some chicken skewers off the barbecue and you could be in business.
