A brilliant wine in its own right, this Henk block continues to wow me. Chatting with winemaker Tim Dexter, he says Henk is a 'Grand Cru' site and this wine is always representative of vintage and site. Embrace the beauty here friends.
Sexy and silky, there is a fraction less depth compared to the Funder & Diamond but it's measured and gloriously composed.
A wine that draws long as you'd come to expect from Oakridge, grapefruit, lemon juice, custard powder and almond meal highlights consume the mouth. Give it time to find its place and barbecued nectarines and a delicate creaminess roll through effortlessly. A killer wine in its own right, it's not entirely fair to compare this to its sibling and Oakridge are blessed to have two immense Chardonnays in their armoury.
Drink to eight years.
