Pure joy, this medium-bodied Oakridge 864 Cabernet sits at the pointy end of cool climate expressions in Australia. Forever consistent, it's a stunning wine.
I'm happy to continue to say that Yarra Valley Cabernet is often overlooked for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, yet the Yarra's origins are very firmly built on this variety. Grown on the right site, the results are magnificent - point in case here.
Blackberries and fruits are the backbone with shaved dark chocolate, dried herbs and pan juices not far from the action. A wine that immerses the senses, its shape and structure are impressive with melting tannins a feature. The fruit and oak are expertly handled and complement one another superbly. Brilliant stuff!
