A new wine in the Yalumba range. The only thing longer than their list of wines is a road train. The 175 year anniversary stamp sits proudly on the bottle too, and deservedly so.
This goes okay but it's not going to gatecrash a party with excitement. Red apples, watermelon juice and red currants are the main players with a delicate creamy undertow. The acid is hard and refuses to bend. Soft fruit keeps this ticking away. Perhaps it needs food beside it? All that said and done, it's the type of wine you'd see on a pub wine list and it would probably sell well, but in a very competitive space, there are others I'd prefer right now at this price point.
Drink now.
