There is no question, the Oakridge 864 range is absolutely humming. Be it the Chardonnay, Cabernet, Syrah or Pinot Noir, you are winning and then some with any of the above in your glass. This Henk Vineyard Aqueduct Block is a Pinot Noir masterclass.
My opening impression was simply, "Wow!"
Headonistic, spellbinding aromas deliver a stunning perfume of prettiness and finesse. Red cherries, macerated cherries, strawberries and sheets of plums are in peak form. An autumnal undertow of twigs, mushroom compost and dried leaves is captivating but the fabric of the wine is the core of impeccable fruit. Superfine spices float seemingly on a cloud leading to a persistent and wonderfully moreish finish. Sit on this for a while and sip slow. What sheer joy and pleasure it is.
Drink to eight years.
