For a long time, the Bush Vine Grenache has been one of the best value wines in the Yalumba portfolio, but this 2022 is more than arms reach from its predecessors.
Sure it's still a reasonable drink, but perhaps the material that has been used here previously has been absorbed elsewhere? I wish I knew.
It's warm and flexes some muscle. Usually a supple, pretty thing, the grunt is not what I've come to expect. Firmish spices stand hard nosed - arms crossed, a furrowed brow, night club bouncer-esque. Purple and blue fruits plus some grape bubblegum attempt to resist the strain of the tension and spice but to no avail. After two days of tasting little changed. I walk away with more questions than answers.
Drink to five years.
