The new-gen Redman boys are letting loose in the winery and dishing up the goods with their Retro Range. "Feed the people," I can hear Danny Redman say before unleashing his contagious laugh. This Rosé is a cracker.
A blend of Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Pinot Gris, this Rosé doesn’t chase the pale trend; it’s confidently darker in hue, and all the better for it. Watermelon husk, red currants, cherries and a flicker of raspberry set the tone before a creamy, textural drive pulls you in. There’s a soft, rounded feel to the mid-palate, but fine, grippy tannins give it shape and food-friendly structure. It’s generous yet poised, delicious yet composed. A Rosé that is well priced with plenty to embrace and even more to enjoy, bravo.
