From Tasmania's Tamar Valley comes this absolutely delicious Shiraz courtesy of Holm Oak.
Char and roasted meats mingle with pan juices, while a subtle flicker of violets does its best to sneak into the frame. Dark cherries, baked raspberries and juicy plums roll through with ease, underpinned by a faint granite-like minerality that adds depth and poise. Silky lines glide across the palate and a fine thread of white pepper stamps its cool-climate origin with confidence. There’s a lovely tension through the mid-palate, keeping everything in check. What a beauty! I could be talked into giving it another point.
