Montalto Tuerong Pinot Noir 2021

Quite an intriguing Tuerong, one that is very different to previous releases. A wonderful wine as always, but there are a few shades of contrast that haven't shown themselves prior.

Bright red apples and strawberries skip out early but the aroma of mint is hard to miss. Cloves, licorice and a little dried leaf matter, it's silky and fine-boned. The presence and shape are hard to ignore - delicate would be the best descriptor. Each time I go back the mintiness leaps up and some pan juices gain momentum the longer it sits. Superfine spices scatter about and coat a long and moreish finish. A great wine and one you could adore for some time yet.
