A blend of Hunter Valley and Hilltops Shiraz, I'm unsure why it's called a "Red" when Shiraz is actually what it is. It's a great drink by the way, make no mistake.
Medium-bodied fruit is the order of the day. The main players are cloves, pan juices, burnt ends, peppered steak and spiced plums. It opens up beautifully and gets better a day on. A gravelly and dusty finish lingers. There is plenty of interest and plenty of chew. Give it a decant if you're ready to drink it now. Above all, it's a rock solid wine and I'd be happy to have a glass.
