Mount Majura Vineyard The Silurian 2011

Twelve years on lees - what a treat! A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this Mount Majura The Silurian 2011 is absolutely humming.

It's a sparkling with some volume but I really like its flow. Density comes in the form of biscotti, sourdough and Danish pastry. Fine ribbons of lemon juice roll through. Golden apple, Nashi pear and white-fleshed nectarines add detail with the suggestion of oyster shell building interest to the aroma profile. Fabulously balanced acidity with a bready and tonic texture, it has length for days. Bone dry to finish, it brings the mouth to water. This is a great drink and a nod to patience.

Drink to ten years.
