Svelte and smashing the brief, this is precisely what a delicate and juicy Grenache should look like courtesy of Purple Hands.
From vines planted in 1885, there is no escaping the blueberries, mulberries and pulpy raspberry fruit. What I find compelling is that Grenache fruit from the southern Barossa is usually more dense and at times muscular, but this has bucked that trend - bravo!
Alluring scents of dried red flowers and ripe raspberries set the tone. Delicate is certainly the word with super fine silty like tannins stretching to all corners. Drenched with flavour, this is a Grenache I want to keep all to myself such as its medium-bodied pleasure and moreishness. Embrace the freshness now, it is gorgeous, but it will age gracefully should you choose to tuck some away.
