Good gear. A solid Pinot Gris from Vandenberg Wines highlighting their Mount Benson vineyards.
Mount Benson sits on South Australia's coastal strip north of Robe.
Pillows of poached pear fruit frame the palate on opening. A wine that walks comfortably in its own skin, some green apple and canned apple highlights wash through too. But it's that composure which elevates its appeal. Fine cinnamon and ginger spices wrap themselves around the palate and cling to a persistent finish with a lemony acidity having the last word. You'd be a hard marker not to indulge in a glass or two. It's very well done.
