"2019 was an exciting year for Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay," Simon Black says with spring in his step. He goes on, "Just you wait until you see the Single Vineyards." Based on the outrageously impressive Pennon Hill and this awesome Estate release, it seems you need to get in the queue and quick.
A charismatic type of Chardonnay with an open personality, oatmeal and almond meal dance early with a stunning performance from crème brulèe. Gorgeous white stonefruits are focused as nougat and a splash of vanilla play the wingman role perfectly. Black's ability to demonstrate delicate textural presence in his Chardonnays can be seen one again - just brilliant! Citrus juice pulsates throughout with a delicate minerality and a seductive grapefruit acidity to close. A superb Chardonnay hands down.
