Another exemplary Chardonnay coming off the Henk vineyard. This 864 Single Block comes from the Aqueduct block. Stand and applaud.
Concentrated yet focused, the balance of fruit, oak and acid is superb. White fleshed stone fruit, some apple and oatmeal early lead to a deft touch of cashews and delicate vanilla sliding in with shades of brulée. Some match sticks and flintiness are not far from the action either. There's a generosity which just has an incredible precision about it leaving you with a long and what seems to be a forever persistent finish highlighted by grapefruit acidity. A brilliant Chardonnay.
