Ravens Croft Sagrantino Rosé 2020

A Granite Belt vintage ravaged by the elements saw winemakers seek fruit from other regions. This Sagrantino was sourced from Chalmer's vineyards in Mildura. A tasty wine, it seems to have hit the jackpot with the 'sold out' sign nearly posted - not bad considering it was released not too long ago.

There's a funky meaty and charcuterie aroma early before sour cherries and freeze dried raspberry fruit go about their work to appease. You get a sense the fruit is quite light on its feet and almost brushed atop the tongue before a surge of fine spices fill the mouth. Add the faintest lick of vanilla cream and you have a very slurpable wine to kick back with. Chill hard and surround yourself with those who laugh lots and this will go down a treat.
