Back on the horse after no 2018 vintage, this super impressive Saperavi from Ridgemill Estate picks up from where it left off in 2017.
Purple rain - you're drenched in it with this wonderful Georgian variety. Planted in 2006, Saperavi is known for its ability to withstand the cold and it has certainly found a happy home on the Granite Belt.
Scents of rose hip and rosella scents are captivating from the outset. There's a touch of cedar too. Dripping with blueberries laced with a Christmas cake spice, it's voluptuous and mouth filling. Sheets of textural interest are interwoven with faint licks of licorice adding further appeal. Dusty and sandy tannins complete a generous and persistent finish. One glass just isn't enough.
Cellar Door only.
