Juxtaposed Wait Vineyard Shiraz 2021

Dr Wes Pearson is all about detail and the one percenters and the new labels for his Juxtaposed wines express the finer details for wine nerds like me - winning! From the Sandy Corner Block of the Wait Vineyard comes this excellent McLaren Vale Shiraz off 55-year-old vines.

As the subtext says on the label, 'maximum data, minimal intervention'. Yeah, that's Wes right there.

Dense, generous and lengthy, this is a comforting embrace in a bottle. Sinking a couple of glasses seemingly happens with ease.

Dark cherries, cherry cola, dense black plums, baked blueberries and dark chocolate all put their shoulder to the wheel working in unison. Cloves and exotic spices are scattered about and play wonderful supporting roles but the depth is what I keep coming back to. It's that rope swim into a deep pool and you can't wait to get back in the queue to launch once more. Fine tannins are drying and urge you to come back for more. An excellent wine indeed. Have some now. Stash some for later.
