There are some great pockets of Riesling around the Yarra Valley, much to the surprise of many, and this is one of them. Curiously, it's a wine that is usually released with some bottle age - not the status quo for the majority of Rieslings in Australia.

Barrel fermentation has added a glorious textural appeal. Golden straw and morning sunrise-like colours are prominent in the glass. Already headed down the development path, it's left those days of freshness and vibrance behind. Kerosene, lanolin, Bickford's lime cordial and preserved lemon feature prominently. Sheep's whey aromas come and go with a Key lime pie and lemon rind drive adding interest. Long and persistent, there is a shapely persona about its presence. A great wine, this will age a treat.
