The sophistication and concentration of this Seville Estate Reserve Shiraz are telling when tasted beside its impressive Estate sibling. This is an excellent wine to embrace.
Seeing no new oak, it comes from a single batch ferment with approximately 20% whole bunches and spends 10 months in seasoned oak before being bottled without fining or filtration.
The fruit is darker than the Estate and more concentrated. Cloves, dark chocolate, sauteed mushrooms, twigs and charred steak get the juices flowing. Its presence is elite as it walks with grace. Smooth and curvaceous, dusty and cocoa tannins show some grip, but that seemingly endless length just urges you to come back for more. And I did, time and again. An excellent cool climate Shiraz indeed.
