I could drink gallons of this stuff. There is depth with some concentration yet it possesses a charming flow and dancy beat.
A sad farewell of sorts with this being the final "Estate" Chardonnay release before things are changed up for 2022. More on that later...
I found this to have a little more depth than previous releases. That tightly coiled acidity seemed a little more relaxed this time yet the shape and presence of Seville Estate Chardonnays as we know them still rings true (20% new oak, no MLF).
Scents of custard and custard apple move to white nectarines and figs. Vanilla cream drives through the mouth with cashews hitching a ride. That nuttiness rides long - yes! Lemon juice is generous with a lemon acidity that just sizzles. Tonic like feels hum through the mouth - that texture is painted on thick. Damn, it is such a delicious wine. The best is yet to come given its development over a few days of tasting. Throw one of these under your wing and you are winning!
