Named the BDX, you could assume it's a Bordeaux blend but its main player is Barbera. It's not so Bordeaux then is it? But given the appellation law has changed (a law many would be oblivious to), it's a curious name I must admit.
Blended with Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, the final wine saw French oak for 14 months (21% new).
Highlighted by charcuterie and barbecued meat aromas, a distinct Cherry Ripe slice feature glides through. The Cabernet Franc component brings some mintiness with it. Some sweet blackberries whizz by late leading a to big finish that's drying and powdery. Feed it meat. It's Sunday roast ready.
