From a single vineyard planted in 1940, winemaker Adam Clay has some serious material to work with. This Shiraz is dense and goes deep. It is a sheer delight to drink with its gloss and sheen. Coupled with its silky feels and elongated and super fine finish, it is absolutely glorious. Sip this and you get the sense that you are floating on a cloud.
Dark berries and plums consume you. Swirl the glass some more and mulberries rise up. Fine caramel, and dark chocolate manoeuvre their way about with ease. Some meatiness in the form of pan juices and a puff of earthiness come late before fine sheets of Christmas cake and baking spices drape themselves across the palate and stay the course on a sustained finish. Super classy. Just brilliant drinking. Bravo.
