I've tasted a lot of Yarra Valley Pinot over the years but none from the Duck Pond Vineyard from what I know. A bigger style of Pinot, there is some tannin chew for good measure.
Dry, dark plums and dark cherries steal the limelight early on. A few swirls of the glass and pretty dried petals, pan juices and dried herbs rise up. Rings of fine spice circle on a respectable finish. Not as detailed as its Willowlake sibling, the dry profile and shape lean towards tapas type dishes. All up, it's a more than tidy drink.
