From a cooler site than the No. 1 Shiraz, this walks with a sophisticated swagger despite rocking a street-style hoodie, you know the one. It's a treat to see the two Hilltop expressions from Gundog Estate side by side. There is a little more polish here yet it still presents with some rustic appeal.
Agitating a little more curiosity than its sibling, the pretty scents hook you in early. Dark fruits, sour cherries and red berries rule with a charming warmth and some spice building momentum. The tension in the midpalate but it calms over a few days. A wine that will continue to develop in the medium term, this is a lovely drink.
