A label not foreign to lovers of quality Riesling, this Pikes Traditionale 2023 release keeps the status quo with the quality as high as ever. Brilliant value, this is a riot of lemons and limes. No one loses with this in the glass.
From one of the coolest and longest vintages in the last 20 years, 51% of the fruit was estate grown in Polish Hill River with the remainder coming from other growers and leased sites from around the Clare. Old school lemonade, the fruit is juicy and vibrant. Citrusy acid has a whip-crack presence leaving a riverstone minerally vibe and a fine touch of talc as the parting gift. Readily available and often screaming its bargain appeal around the $20 mark, you know what to do when you're thirsty this summer.
