With a blush appearance, my eyes are in love from the get-go. It's great to see a little bit of its varietal personality glisten, that's for sure. Above all, this is the best Soumah Pinot Grigio I have tasted to date.
That blush appearance has always been part of this wine but this 2023 release just has that slightly darker tinge - best described as onion skin. There is more density and weight this time too. Poached pears loom large with a good splash of lemon juice wrapping itself around white fleshed nectarines and golden apple. Pretty white flowers add attractive scents. The citrusy acidity is tight and crisp with fine sheets of ginger and cinnamon spice gliding through effortlessly. A serious expression and a wine sure to please your long lunch friends.
