Maude Mt Maude Pinot Noir 2018

Such a pristine wine. One of the best Pinots I had the pleasure of tasting on a recent trip to New Zealand.

Gorgeous scents captivate from the outset. Dried purple and red flowers sing with violets particularly capturing attention. Made with 70% whole bunches, this is a savoury Pinot that's dainty and just dances through the mouth. Cloves tuck in behind dark berries and dark cherry fruit. The complexity of the whole bunches ultimately makes the difference here. There's a super fine rub of tannin. So fine they are a bit like the Secret Service - you know they are there but they don't announce their arrival or departure. Pinot pleasure doesn't get much better.
